The Carter Lake House is subject to very strong winds at times so when you leave at the end of your stay cushions are left inside, plastic lounge chairs are on their side and tied into the rail. The metal chairs are between the slider and the kitchen door.
Rattlesnakes, Mountain Lions, Bears, Turkey and Deer. The have all been spotted here. This is rattlesnake habitat but maintenance efforts have removed most of them over the years. Mountain Lions have left tracks on the deck in the winter but hunt higher in the summer. We leave the dog door closed at night and this gives us a chance to visually inspect the driveway before letting them out in the morning. Bears are a growing problem at Carter Lake. Several have been euthanized over the past few years. Keep all food and garbage out of reach, Garage door closed and man door closed when not in use. Trash is placed in the Trash Can inside the Garage. Tom will take it to the curb each Monday before 8 AM. Turkeys, sometimes in large numbers, are frequent visitors. Same with deer, Summer 2020 two very young deer are hanging out down at Tom’s house so mind dogs that might run down there and disturb them.
